We Give Thanks

Thanksgiving was great this year. My family went up north to visit my grandparents, which was a really good idea!
My dad and I cooked Thanksgiving dinner together, like we have for the last few years.

Yum, pies and stuffing! Notice that my dad is still in pajamas and that I'm looking overtired and crabby... but that stuffing looks delicious!!

Eventually the whole family got in on the cooking act, which was hilarious! My Grandpa, who watched us cook for almost the whole time, decided to help with the potatoes. He grabbed the electric beater to mash them up... and shot them all over the walls! Epic. Seriously, made me laugh SO HARD!

Look at that spread! Amazing :)

Thanksgiving family dinner  (minus my dad, who took the picture)
There was also ATV-ing, walks in the woods, I talked with my Grandma for hours about parenting and other  deep things... it was a great vacation and I want it to happen again. Like, next weekend.

Welcome to the Lake!

Last weekend, we went to the cottage! I took my friend Amber up with me, and it was SUCH a needed break. We got a whole weekend unplugged from technology, surrounded by peace and drama-free. I loved it, and really didn't want to go home!

As promised, we went tubing! I think Amber was a little disappointed, since I kind of made us go on an old lady ride. I'm not as exciting as I used to be, I guess. Also, my grandpa took this picture and I forgot to teach him how to use the zoom, so you can't really see us.

We also went canoe-ing, which I looooooved. Amber and I went one day by ourselves, and the next morning we took Buddy with us.

But mostly, we just hung out at the lake and enjoyed the beautiful weather!

All in all, I had the best weekend I have had in a long time. We need to do it again, ASAP!
Next up: Amber, Buddy and I go to the Madison zoo on Wednesday!

To Grandmother's House We Go....

This last weekend, we went to our cottage for Memorial Day! The weather wasn't the best, but it was really great to have a few days just to relax :)

Buddy got to spend some time with his Great-Grandparents, which was adorable:
Here he is reading Great-Grandma Betty a book,  doing character voices!

Buddy went skinny-dipping! The water was only 60 degrees, but he was gung-ho.

"Buddy, cover up your privates. Mama wants to put these pictures online!"

"Mama, I win! I was the first one to swim in the lake this  year! I kicked everyone's butts!" (Not that anyone else was competing to be the first one in the freezing water...)

Playing the various lawn games. We don't buy our sets, Great-Grandpa Ray builds them himself!
