... Is a warm gun

You know what I'm slowly realizing? I'm lonely.
I honestly haven't known that was what I was feeling. I've been trying to keep busy working, and planning things with my son, and even meeting with my past friends, when everything lines up right.
But what I find when I finally slow down? Not much. Now, I don't want to sound ungrateful. My mom will gossip with me for hours a day, and I really enjoy it! Having a gal-pal/mother is pretty awesome, because you can be silly, dirty, naughty, and yet also cry and ask for grown-up advice when you need it. And it all comes in one package.
And if anyone can't tell from reading this, my dad has basically saved my life, and my ass. Over and over again. And will always be there to watch the dorky movies I don't want to invite friends to, and to help me out in a pinch, and get in really obnoxious and yet ridiculously fun arguments...
But still. I can count on 1 hand the number of close friends I have, and even then we're not that close anymore.
Ugh. There is a point in time when you start meeting people who are at the same place in life as you are, right?
I am keeping hope for NTC this fall, that the program will have lots of people who are motivated and have real lives already.
But until then, man is it lonely.

P.S. - I titled this post, then started singing the song in my head and realized that "happiness" is a warm gun, not "loneliness"! Anyway, George Harrison is a genius regardless and I like the song, so I'm not changing it :)

Phone Photos

Because I've been so busy and haven't been at home, what with the computer issues and now the car that almost blew up... Oh, I didn't mention that? Yeah. My car almost blew up. Needless to say I'm not driving it anymore. And now am car-less for the moment. Awesome.
Anyway, I know I've been full of excuses for missed posts recently, but I really do plan to update at least twice a week and it just never happens.
So, since I'm too tired and crabby from cramming 10 extra hours of work, plus tons of extra schoolwork into this week, I'm just gonna phone it in. Literally.
Here are pictures from my cell phone! Enjoy.

I had dreadlocks in this picture! You can't really tell, but they were awesome. I miss them, even though they were stinky, itchy, and impractical.

Buddy and Uncle Davey!

Buddy's knight costume. Courtesy of Grandpa. Pretty sweet.

His costume for his first play ever! It was the play The Curious Savage, which is great. He played John Thomas, a doll which a delusional but sweet woman thinks is her son. (There was also a doll who played John Thomas, but I think my kiddo did much better!)

This has nothing to do with anything. My mother made this delicious reuben sandwich, that was almost too beautiful to eat!

Buddy's 4th birthday. Obvs.

He loves his uncle!

Rocking out!

The end for today. No worries, I saved some more for later in case of further writers/life blocks!

Update! (Finally)

So I finally got my pictures uploaded, and thought I would update everyone on our trip to Ohio. My Uncle Paul got married a few weeks ago, and lots of family traveled down to the wedding! I took the 11-hour drive with my dad, my Buddy, my cousin Korrin and her 5-year-old son.

We decided to make the drive through the night, hoping that it would let the kids sleep through most of the drive, since we were all crammed into my dad's SUV, which was not a very comfortable fit.

This last picture is my favorite, it was taken around dawn while Shiloh was still sleepy. He didn't want the light to get into his eyes!
My dad and I stayed up the whole night, and ended up in political debates. Just FYI, it's not a great idea to try to have political arguments after being awake for more then 24 hours. Ridiculous!
We got to Ohio around 7 am, ate some breakfast and then drove to stay with family. I immediately crashed in the next available bed, and passed out for about 5 hours. I guess the kids went to the park or something, but I was way too tired to care!
We spent the night with my Aunt Vickie, who fed us and took care of us (and for free! Way better than a hotel!) but then ended up at a hotel for the next few nights.
My poor kiddo was so sleep deprived for the whole trip that he crashed every time we were in the car for more than 5 minutes. Also, who knew that if you put 2 boys together non-stop for 5 days that they would fight like cats and dogs? Oh right, sane people. Well, I forgot, and the boys drove each other INSANE!
Here Shiloh is about to cry because Payton smucked him in the face.
Here Shiloh is about to throw a fit because Payton pinched him with the "claw toys".
This is the theme of the weekend, one of the boys throwing a fit about something the other did! It was a lot of fun too, I love getting together with family! So here are some pictures of us just partying!

Buddy's doing the worm. It's pretty wicked.

Anyway, after 4 days of tons of fun and almost no sleep, we had to attempt the 11-hour drive back home.
Took 20 minutes. Tops!

Sorry!

About the lack of posting. I got home from the wedding to find out that my neighbors had their electricity shut off. Which, none of my business, except I we share an internet connection that is hooked up in their house. With electricity. Which they don't currently have.
So I haven't been able to blog, but much worse is that I got really behind on homework and now I'm frantically trying to get caught up and it's stressing me out.
Which, nothing new. Seriously, if there was a week in my life when nothing stressful happened, that would be so abnormal that IT would stress me out.

Hah. Anyway, when I'm done catching up on hours of homework and cleaning up the house after weeks of vacation-ing, I will update again. Probably with pictures. Until then, sorry!

Mommy days :(

Just so you all know, I'm going insane. I haven't seen my Buddy since last Friday, and that is way too long! Ok, I know he's at his grandparents cottage with his dad and all, and he's having a great time and I'm sure not even missing me at all. But I'm going nuts! I thought I would really enjoy having time to spend with friends, and I have gone out and about and seen some people that I really wanted to catch up with, but...

I need my sweet boy to come jump up on my lap and give me a spur-of-the-moment kiss, "just cuz I love you, Mama".

I need to play silly word games and have ridiculous-insult contests! "Buddy, you goofy-head! "Mama, you're a... a... shoe head!" "Oh yeah? Well you're a bike head!"

I need to give my sweaty, sleeping boy a kiss on the forehead and sing him "I'll love you forever", which he never believes I do since he's always hardcore asleep :)

I need to go outside and play "pirate ship" with our patio, I even promise I'll be the shark without complaining this time!

I miss my Buddy.
